Pretty odd: a second attempt

Source Website: Poly in Pictures

This article / blog post was discovered through our Commons project.

It’s been almost a month and I haven’t heard from Esmé, so these are once more available.

They are 75% wool, 25% nylon. They are not machine washable. They fit big and small hands. They took 7.5 hours to make. I think the yarn cost about £4 GBP. They are matching in shape and size and yarn type/brand, but one of them is purply and one is green-ish. They were made in a pet-free, smoke-free home.

“Forget Yourself” by Redfern Jon Barrett

Source Website: Poly in Pictures

This article / blog post was discovered through our Commons project.

Some time ago, in the middle of a ridiculous haze caused by autistic/domestic anxiety and depression, Red found me on Facebook through the Poly in Pictures page and sent me a message asking if I’d like to read his book. He spoke of queer and polyamorous themes, and I knew he meant it. I’m not that widely read so this is probably not a reliable generalisation, but most books I’ve read that make claims like this are… how can I explain this? I find that they exaggerate.

Pretty odd

I’d like to send these handwarmers to someone. I’d also like some money. These two things are somewhat unrelated. (This is a bit of an experiment; I’m curious to see what happens.)

Deana just sent me a photo of her heart family’s comic all framed up. I feel all proud and appreciative and some other feels also.

Click here for the TwitPic post, and here for the original comic.

A peek into the search terms

Source Website: Poly in Pictures

This article / blog post was discovered through our Commons project.

For the curious/nosy, and were I not the creator I would be among you, here’s a screen grab of the search terms used to find Poly in Pictures since midnight (ie: the last 6.5 hours).

It is an entertaining list just because of one or two that I’ll mention in a mo. I’d type them out for accessibility but most of them are quite dull.

Cartoon fools – Wow, don’t hold back or anything there.

Anyone got any ideas or subjects they’d like to see in a comic? Leave a comment and I’ll give full credit in the description and link to your website or Twitter, etc.

Thanks, Lydia, for the reminder!

PiPification

Would you like to donate if it meant you got a little portrait of you (or someone else) in PiP style based on a photograph or description or something, d’you think?

I’ve just been and watched Amanda Palmer’s TED talk, which was very inspiring. I’d recommend it for any artists or anyone trying to sell things, really.

How to allow all Project Wonderful ads in Adblock Plus

Source Website: Poly in Pictures

This article / blog post was discovered through our Commons project.

Hello!

Today I woke up with this thought in my mind for the nth time, and found out how to do it, and I figured some of you might like it too.

I really like Project Wonderful, and if I find out that a site I like runs ads with PW I tend to unblock ads on that page. I just saved about 5 and a half minutes of the rest of my life with this handy advice. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but if I’m not, viola:

Phase one of getting-my-life-back-on-track complete:

Looks a lot like I’ve got a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome…

Now to concentrate on using that to get the disability benefits and practical support I need for a decent quality of life.

This feels like a pretty big step.

I’ve finally got around to adding a footer to this website letting people know how the comics are licensed. Check out the bottom of every page for the following handy information:

Unless otherwise mentioned in the comic blurb, all comics are licensed Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). Click to find out in which ways you’re allowed to use them.
